L’Institut international de planification de l’éducation de l’UNESCO (IIPE-UNESCO) et l’Union européenne ont lancé cette semaine le projet « Analyse et renforcement des capacités de planification et de pilotage du système éducatif haïtien » développé conjointement avec le ministère de l’Education nationale et de la Formation professionnelle (MENFP), dans le cadre d’un atelier de trois jours.

In sub-Saharan Africa, for example, the proportion of children enrolled in primary school has risen from 52% in 1990 to 80% this year. However, in the dash to get children into the classroom, there was too little focus on the quality of the education once they were there.

UNESCO Launch Ten-Day Capacity Building For Education Ministry Officials

The launch for 30 officials from the National and State Level Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MOEST) was made by the UNESCO in Juba and UNESCO’s International Institute for Educational planning (IIEP). Abdi Dahir Osman, UNESCO’s Education Capacity Officer in a news briefing said the training is focusing on integrating safety, resilience and social cohesion into the education sector planning and curriculum development.

Fonder la première université installée dans un camp de réfugiés, c’est le projet un peu fou d’Yvelyne Wood , que nous présente Léo Kalinda. Cette université ouvrira ses portes le 28 septembre dans le camp de Musasa, au Burundi. Si certains jeunes réfugiés reçoivent des bourses pour aller étudier à l’étranger, la plupart d’entre eux n’ont pas accès à l’éducation. Le projet UniRef veut renverser cette tendance.

Centrafrique : Faute de maitres, les parents d’élèves dispensent les cours

Confrontés à une sérieuse pénurie d’instituteurs, de nombreux établissements scolaires de Centrafrique font actuellement recours aux parents d’élèves eux-mêmes pour dispenser les enseignements, a constaté APA.
Cette situation assez originale s’explique surtout par le fait que l’Etat peine à recruter les instituteurs ayant bénéficié d’une formation adéquate, à tel point que beaucoup d’entre eux ont choisi d’évoluer dans les établissements privés.

RDC -Territoire Fizi : Plus de 800 enfants ciblés par un projet d’éducation en situation d’urgence

10 écoles affectées par des conflits dans le secteur de Lulenge (Territoire de Fizi) ont été identifiées par
L’ONG Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) suite au lancement le 27 mai d’un projet d’éducation en situation
d’urgence d’une durée d’un an. Au total, 800 enfants, filles et garçons, affectés par le déplacement, bénéficient
de ce programme visant à leur assurer l’accès à une éducation gratuite et de qualité. Des cours de
récupération pour les 800 enfants non-scolarisés ou à risque d’abandon sont organisés dans le but de
promouvoir leur réinsertion dans le système scolaire. Par ailleurs, l’ONG réalisera des formations pour les
enseignants et les élèves…
